Streer leads Men's Bowling Team to 3rd in NJCAA National Tournament, Women Bowlers Finish 8th

Both the men's and women's bowling teams took top-10 finishes in the National Junior College Athletic Association's National Championship held at Airport Lanes in Cheektowaga, March 3-4. The men's team finished third, while the women's team finished eighth.

The Kats' top bowler was Dan Streer, who finished third overall in all-events with 2,414 pins and earned All-American accolades. Tom Kress was just under 30 pins away from also garnering All-American status and finished ninth overall with 2,283 pins.

Both the men's and women's team produced a top-three bowler in singles play. Streer finished second overall with a 618 series, while Abigail Smith was third on the women's side with a 589 series. Streer finished strong with a third game of 246 – the best of any bowler.

The men's team had three top-25 singles bowlers. In addition to Streer's runner-up position, Jared Wojcinski held the 21st position with a 563 series, while Tom Kress was 23rd with a 560.

In doubles play, the men's team had a pair of top-five finishes. Ryan Kress and Alex Weinreich finished fourth overall with a combined 1,140. Griffin Garcia and Tome Kress were right behind in fifth place with a 1,138 total. Both Kress brothers had the top game in doubles for the Kats with both recording twin scores of 215. Ryan's 215 was the best opening doubles score of any bowler at the tournament.

In all-events totals, the men's team had three in the top-25. In addition to Streer and Kress, Weinreich finished 23rd with 2,140 pins over a dozen games. The women's team had a pair of top-25 all-events finishers in Amy Feldman (13th) and Smith (21st).
