Kats Cheer Team Concludes Successful NCA National Competition

The Erie Community College cheer team completed their second day of National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) national competition with a top-15 finish. The Kats moved on to the finals after a great start in the first day of competition, April 6 in Daytona Beach, Fla.

Led by Coach Gerth, the Kats competed at the Division III-level in the All-Girl category. Despite being the only junior college in that category, the Kats were one of six top-15 colleges from New York State – the most of any state.

Michigan's Davenport University took first in the All-Girl Cheer Division III category, but two of the N.Y. teams finished in the top five with the Kats finishing 14th.

Members of the team include: Stephanie Mazur, Samantha Mazur, Kayleigh McCadden, Courtney Bailey, Mia Chvala, Marissa Williams, Jasmyn Graves, Jaime Renaldo, Jocelyn Heerdt, Kylie Homberger, Julia Zak, Emily Schrader, Sara Eagen, Maureece Berchie, Sarah Plandowski and Grace Leggio.
