The Western New York Athletic Conference recognized a pair of Erie athletes for their accomplishments on and off the field during the 2018-19 season.
Jena Schelble, who led all NJCAA Division 3 women's soccer players in scoring in 2018, was named the conference's Freshman Female Athlete of the Year. Schelble scored 25 goals and had 29 assists for the Kats, who finished the year with a 16-1 record. She was a First Team All-Region 3 and First Team All-WNYAC selection and was recently recognized as an NJCAA Academic All-American.
Kasey Walker-Gregg, who was a two-time Academic All-American for Erie's men's basketball team, was recognized as the conference's Co-Academic Male Athlete of the Year. Walker-Gregg was a two-year starter at point guard for the Kats, helping them to back-to-back Region 3 championships and NJCAA Tournament appearances. He was twice named Region 3 Tournament MVP, was a Second Team All-Region selection in 2018 and garnered Third-Team All-Region accolades in 2019.

Senior Female Athlete of the Year – Roosa Ariyo, Monroe soccer
Co-Academic Male Athletes of the Year – Kasey Walker-Gregg, Erie basketball and Vincent Chiarenza, Niagara baseball
Academic Female Athlete of the Year – Alyssa Johnston, Mercyhurst North East softball
