Baseball Defeats Nationally Ranked Herkimer in First Round Before Falling Short In Region III Final Four

Little Falls, NY -- The Kats defeated No. 2 Herkimer College on Friday, 6-4 in extra innings, before falling to Finger Lakes Community College and Herkimer College in the double elimination Region III Baseball Final Four.

Jordan Kowalski would lead the Kats with two RBI and a homerun against Herkimer in the opening round while Jeremy Torres would pick up the win on the mound. Torres would allow just two hits in the final five innings and struck out six batters.

The Kats would fall to Finger Lakes Community College 4-3 despite Joel Ciccarelli's stellar performance on the mound. Ciccarelli would strike out 10 batters in the game. 

The Kats hopes of a Region title rested on a rematch with Herkimer College on Saturday night but the Kats fell short, 12-7. Jordan Kowalski, Domenico Morea, and Levi Vaughn lead the Kats with two RBI each in their final game but the Kats were unable to pull out the win. 

The Kats ended the season with a 29-20 record.
