Orchard Park, NY -- The Kats passing offense wasn't enough to topple the College of DuPage as the Kats fell, 46-34 at West Hurr Stadium on Saturday. The Kats attacked DuPage through the air all game but the DuPage offense fired back.
The Kats would fall behind early as the College of DuPage would score 13 unanswered points in the first quarter.
The Kats would answer early when quarterback Tyler Zelinski would find wide receiver Tyler Ringwood on a 24 yard touchdown pass. The College of DuPage would answer right back to extend their lead to 20-7. The Kats would again find succes in the air when Zelinski would find Ringwood again, this time for a 17 yard touchdown.
Each team would find the endzone again before the half, with Zelinski hitting Ringwood for a 12 yard touchdown pass a minute before the end of the half. College of DuPage would take a 27-20 lead into the half.
College of DuPage would find the endzone three times in the third quarter to take a 46-20 lead into the fourth.
The Kats as would find the endzone early in the fourth when Zelinski would find Isaiah Brown for a 10 yard touchdown pass. The Kats offense would attempt a comeback but would only muster up one more scoring drive when Zelinski would find Erriona Giardina from 19 yards out with under a minute to play.
Tyler Zelinski would go 26 of 47 for 364 yards, an interception and five touchdowns. Tyler Ringwood would be his leading receiver with 10 catches for 172 yards and three touchdowns.
The Kats defense would attempt to hold off the DuPage offense all game, forcing two turnovers on a fumble and an interception but it wasn't enough to pull of a win. Defensive standouts would include Tyrece Speight who had an interception and Troy Rogers would have 8 tackles and a sack.
The Kats are back in action on Saturday, October 14th when they host ASAge Colle at West Hurr Stadium for ECC's Military Appreciation Game. Kickoff is at 12PM.
