Football Kats defeat Alfred JV, 30-7

Alfred, NY -- The Kats offense fired on all cylinders today as they defeated the Alfred University Saxons JV team, 30-7.

The Kats offense was powered by the passing attack with quarterback Tyler Zelinski passing for 253 yards and three touchdowns and rushing for one touchdown. The Kats would kick off the scoring when Zelinski would sneak across the goal line from a yard out to cap off a 78 yard touchdown drive in the first quarter.

The Kats would find the endzone again when Zelinski would find Amonte Gwinn for a 30 yard touchdown strike to give the Kats a 16-0 lead after converting a two point attempt.

Zelinski added two more touchdowns with a 14 yard touchdown to Tyler Ringwood and a 45 yard touchdown to Laquan White to round out the Kats scoring.

The Kats defense would pressure the quarterback all day leading to six sacks which would help hold the Saxons to only a touchdown on the day.

The Kats special teams would contribute a blocked field goal by Dante Mount to round out a total team effort in Alfred.

The Kats are back in action on Saturday, October 28th in the final home game of the season against Hudson Valley Community College. Kickoff is at 12PM.
