Buffalo, NY -- The Kats flourished against the Buffalo State JV Bengals on Sunday with a 43-0 win at Coyer Field.
The Kats opened the scoring when Jack Edwards found Che'kore Moore from 27 yards out for a touchdown pass and added a two point conversion to take a 8-0 lead into the second quarter.
The Kats defense made their presence known in the second quarter when Marvin Appleberry would intercept a pass at the Kats 13 yard line and return it 57 yards to set the offense up with excellent field position. Jack Edwards would find the endzone again when he connected with Seven Turpin for a 30 yard touchdown to stretch the lead to 15. The defense would strike again and this time get in on the scoring when Brandon Becraft would force a fumble that Lamar Bell would return 22 yards for the touchdown to put the Kats up 22-0, a lead they would take into halftime.
Khalil Horton was would punch in a one yard run for the touchdown for the Kats to put the lead at 29-0 in the third quarter. The third quarter was good for the Kats defense as Kristian Chavers and Noble Smith would intercept passes. Smith's interception would set the Kats up in Buffalo State territory and ultimately lead to an 11 yard touchdown run from Khalil Horton to put the Kats up 36-0.
An early fourth quarter touchdown would round out the scoring as Spencer Loftus found Stephen Doctor for a 48 yard touchdown pass to put the Kats up 43-0.
The win improves the Kats to 4-2 on the season ahead of a trip to Alfred University to take on the Alfred JV program on Sunday October 21st at 1PM.
