Men's Basketball Tops Monroe Community College for Region III Championship.

Rochester, NY -- SUNY Erie would capture their tenth NJCAA Region III men's basketball championship when they defeated Monroe Community College 66-59 on Sunday.

The Kats would pull out the close win over the Tribunes thanks in part to 21 points from Freshman Kasey Walker-Gregg, including going 10 of 12 from the free throw line, who would again lead the Kats in scoring. Key free throws from Walker-Gregg down the stretch would put the Kats up seven and the game out of reach for the Tribunes with 33 seconds to play.

Freshman Kyle Harris would add 16 points and seven rebounds to the effort for the Kats.

The win sends the Kats to the NJCAA Division II National Championship Tournament on March 20th-24th in Danville, Illinois.
