Potsdam, NY- The Kats split a pair of games when they traveled to Potsdam to take on Clarkson University over the weekend.
On Saturday, after trailing 0-2 after the first period, Erie found their game in the third period behind forward Shawn Kross. Kross scored both regulation goals for the Kats with Brett Sardina recording both assists. The Kats completed the comeback when freshman Ryan Kelly found the back of the net 4:22 into the overtime period giving the team a 3-2 win. Kross anda Sardina had the assists on the winner.
Erie could not keep the momentum going on Sunday falling behind by the end of the first period and the Kats could never quite catch up. Clarkson won the second game with a final of 7-4. Kross and Sardina continued their strong chemistry as they tallied three of the four Erie goals. Huner Golovin netted the other Kats goal.
