Sardina Leads Kats to Victory over Canisius

Cheektowaga, NY- Scoring three goals and adding three assists, sophomore Brett Sardina had a six point day to lead the Kats hockey team to a 9-1 win over Canisius UNYCHL.  

Erie jumped out to 4-0 lead in the first period and never looked back. Sardina netted his first of the day just :45 seconds into the contest. He added another just twenty seconds later.  He would assist on the next Erie goal before completing his hatrick with 1:40 remaining in the first period.  

The Kats would score three more to start the second before Canisus got on the board.  The added one more late in the third to complete the scoring. 

Sophomore Tim Bogdan had five points on the day scoring two goals and assisting on all three of Sardina's tallys.  Also scoring for the Kats were John Muller who had two and Zachary Micholas and Michael Velasquez who each had one. 

Erie will take the ice next on Saturday, February 8th at the Cheektowaga Recreation Center when they host Fredonia at 3:00 pm.
