Kats Fall In Opening Swimming and Diving Meet to GCC, 195-138

Batavia, NY -- The Kats swim program would travel to Genesee Community College for the first meet of the year where they fell, 195-138, to open the season.

Despite the loss, Coach Phil Schneider saw promise in his group of swimmers. "Our freshman were within five seconds or less in most events" said Schneider. "We swam exceptionally well, I'm very happy with where we are."

The men would fall 118-72 while the women would lose 77-66.

The Kats would win multiple events. Tabby Smith would win the 50 yard freestyle in 26.86 seconds while Brad Zifra would win the 100 yard butterfly in 58.25 seconds.

The Kats are back in action on Friday when they host Buffalo State and University of Rochester at Burt Flickinger Athletic Center for a dual meet. Meet time is 6PM.
