Orchard Park, NY -- The Kats are coming off a season where they finished fifth in the NJCAA National Tournament and are looking to build on that success. Head Coach Gary Boughton has been tirelessly recruiting and has signed three players to the Kats for the 2018 season. See what the Kats and the coach had to say about signing on to play for Erie and what they bring to the team.

Gabi Gray, Goal Keeper, Kenmore East High School, Kenmore NY

Gabi:
"One of the main reasons I chose to come to Erie is that when I met Coach Boughton and a couple of the girls from his team – everyone was amazing, as they showed me around the campus, I did not feel overwhelmed but more at home. I felt very welcomed. I wanted to continue my soccer career as well as ECC having a versatile health and wellness program." -

Coach Boughton:
"Gabi has shown a great ability in goal that we're very excited about for next season. We have a huge hole left there from our graduating 'keepers, and we are confident Gabi will play a major role for us. Her ability with the ball at her feet is also something we're excited about."

Annabelle MacIntosh, Forward, South Seneca, Ovid NY

Annabelle:
"The main reason I wanted to come to Erie and play for the Kats is because of their past successes. They're a strong team and set the pace of the games. I was also encouraged to attend Erie as it's a smaller school but located in a bigger city, so I'd have the best of both worlds. In addition, Coach Boughton has really put the time in, making sure I'll be prepared and know what to expect for this coming season, which is important to me."

 Coach Boughton:
"Annabelle is a player who has that innate ability to score goals. She finds herself in good places near goal and has a finishing touch about her play up top as a target. She can also crack a ball on frame from distance, making her a major threat to score – something we hope she will do regularly for us."

Ashley Melino, Defender, Livonia High School, Livonia NY

Ashley:
"The reason I wanted to come to Erie and play for the Kats is because I wanted to play good, competitive soccer and I knew that Erie was the best college for that. I'm looking forward to playing with the team and my play contributing to help get the Kats to Nationals."

Coach Boughton:
"Ashley is an athletic defender who isn't afraid to make a big tackle. She's comfortable centrally and out wide, so we have a lot of options with her versatility. She gives us an opportunity to improve defensively, and we couldn't be happier to have her in our locker room."
