Women's Soccer Tops Montgomery, 4-1

Dryden, NY -- The offense clicked as the Kats would defeat the Montgomery Raptors in the consolation bracket of the 2017 NJCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship at Tompkins Cortland Community College on Friday, 4-1.

The Kats would get on the board early when Rachel Fiore would find the net on a penalty kick. Sam Carey would add another goal after a long shot, aided by the wind at her back, would find it's way past the keeper to give the Kats a 2-0 lead going into the half.

The start of the second half would be no different for the Kats as Nicole Torres would add another goal early in the half. Sam Carey would add her second goal of the game to put the Kats up 4-0.

The Kats would allow Montgomery to score and make the game 4-1, but would bend no further, holding on to the lead in a windy and fridgid game in the Finger Lakes region. Hannah Clarkson would get the win in net for the Kats.

The Kats will be back in action on Sunday when they take on the Nassau at 10 AM in the fifth place game.
