Women's Soccer Holds Off SUNY Broome for 2-0 Win, Improves To 12-0

Orchard Park, NY -- The Kats continued their winning streak on Friday by defeating SUNY Broome 2-0 at South Campus.

The Kats came out hot, scoring just two minutes into the game when Makena Carpenter put a pass from Jill Spangler into the net.

Broome would tighten their defense and hold the score at 1-0 heading into the half.

"We had some trouble at times throughout the first half" said Coach Boughton. "And with a few minor adjustments that the girls took to heart at halftime, they played some impressive soccer in the second half."

The Kats would net their second goal of the game when Jena Schelble put home a pass from Spangler to put the Kats up 2-0.

Impressive play from the backs and goalkeeper Gabi Gray would keep the cleansheet intact for the Kats.

"I'm very happy with the result, but more with how we got it. The girls really impressed me with how well they did exactly what we trained all week" said Boughton.

The Kats will look to improve to 13-0 when they travel to take on St. John Fisher's JV team on Tuesday October 9th at 7PM.
