Canandaigua, NY -- For the first time all year, the Kats trailed an opponent as they fell down 1-0 early to Finger Lakes Community College. Five unanswered goals from the Kats would wipe out the deficit and then some on their way to a 5-1 win to complete an undefeated regular season.
With the game tied at one, the Kats continued to strike as Jena Schelble would score three straight goals to end the first half with a 4-1 lead for the Kats.
"I'm happy that we were tested today. It was the first time we played trailing all season, and we stayed the course and played our game and proved to ourselves that it works. They earned the result, each and every one of them." said Coach Gary Boughton on the win.
"I'm just so happy for their accomplishment. The ladies set some goals as a team back in preseason, and an unbeaten regular season in the Region was one of them. To be the first team in our program's history to achieve this, I'm just fortunate to be a part of this group."
The 15-0 Kats will await seeding before being Region III tournament play next week.
