Passing Attack Leads Football to 47-6 Win Over Alfred University JV

Alfred, NY -- Five passing touchdowns from Jack Edwards would lead the Kats to a 47-6 win over Alfred University JV on Sunday.

The Kats kicked off the scoring when they capitalized on a Marvin Appleberry interception that set the Kats up with excellent field position. After a 16 yard pass to Che'kore Moore, Edwards would find Moore again, this time for a touchdown, from 20 yards out to put the Kats up 7-0 in the middle of the first quarter.

The Kats defense would force a three and out to give the ball back to the offense and Jack Edwards would capitialize when he found Seven Turpin for a 29 yard touchdown to put the Kats up 14-0.

In the second quarter, an Alfred University touchdown would keep the score close but a blocked extra point attempt by Tory Rogers kept the score 14-6.

A 21 yard touchdown pass from Edwards to Isaiah Brown would send the Kats into the half with a 21-6 lead.

In the second half, the run game would get involved in the scoring when Spencer Loftus pounded in a one yard touchdown run. The point after attempt was failed to make the score 27-6.

In the fourth quarter, Jack Edwards would strike again with a 3 yard touchdown pass to RJ Debo. The two point conversion attempt was unsuccessful, bringing the score to 33-6. Seven Turpin would find the endzone on a five yard run to put the Kats up 40-6.

Jack Edwards would strike one more time to put the Kats up 47-6 when he found Deshaun Garner for a 25 yard touchdown pass to round out the scoring.

The Kats defense held the Saxons in check all day with three sacks (Nate Burnard, Anthony Finucane and Ahmad Holloway) and three interceptions (Marvin Appleberry, Samuel Fairley and Collin Leyden). Kaiden Davis would add two forced fumbles for the Kats.

The Kats will look to continue their success when they travel to Troy, NY to take on Hudson Valley Community College on October 27th at 12PM.
