The Kats went 2-1 in pod play when they defeated North Country Community College (25-7, 25-14 and 25-17) and Hudson Valley Community College (25-14, 25-17 and 25-20) before dropping a match to SUNY Adirondack (25-17, 25-20 and 25-21) at Niagara County Community College on Saturday.
"We played well and maintained an agressive offensive gameplan all day and it payed off against North Country and Hudson Valley" said Coach Craig Starzynski. "Jena Ponosny (24 kills on the day) and Kayla Wolinski led that charge as they were our go to hitters."
Serving and defense were sound for the Kats all day, led by libero Julia Reed.
"Julia's attack like defensive play has been the key to a lot of wins lately" said Starzynski
The Kats improve to 6-2 on the season with the win, the best record in Western New York college volleyball.
The Kats take the court again on Thursday September 20th when they host Mercyhurst North East at 6PM at the Burt Flickinger Athletic Center at SUNY Erie's City Campus.
