Bowling Balls Aren’t the Only Things Rolling for Kats

The Erie Community College men's and women's bowling teams traveled to Fishkill to compete in the Westchester Shootout Bowling Invitational Jan. 28. While the men's team finished third in a field of 18, the women's team finished seventh.

Dan Streer continues to be on a roll for the Kats. After the most impressive showing by a Kat bowler since Dana Voytovich captured the all-events and singles titles at the 2016 Nationals, Streer continued to lead the Kats after taking the all-events and doubles titles, as well as a runner-up finish at singles, in the previous weekend's Blue and Orange Classic.

At the Westchester Shootout, Streer was third in all-events and eighth in singles for the Kats. He also paired with Griffin Garcia for a 10th-place finish at doubles. Streer rolled 568 in singles and 592 in doubles for an 1160 all-events total.

Also on a roll for the men's team is Tom Kress. After finishing runner-up to Streer at the Blue and Orange, Kress had the Kats' top men's singles score with 600 and good enough for third overall. Kress also finished seventh in all-events and paired with Joshua Large finished 10th in doubles with a combined 1043.

Large also had a top 10 finish in all-events at sixth. Not to be left out, another pair of Kat bowlers also had a top 10 finish in doubles. Alex Weinrich and Ryan Kress were the top Kat doubles team and finished eighth with 1049.

The women's team had one top-10 finisher in Amy Feldman, who finished eighth in singles with 577. Feldman also had the women's team's top all-events total with 1084 that placed her in the top 20 at 17th.

The men's bracket was won by The College of New Jersey, while Sacred Heart captured the women's bracket.
