SUNY Erie Celebrates Record Academic Success Among Student-Athletes in 2024–25

The SUNY Erie Community College Athletic Department proudly recognizes the outstanding academic achievements of its student-athletes for the 2024–25 academic year. With numerous individual and team honors, SUNY Erie's student-athletes continue to set the standard for excellence both on and off the field.

NJCAA Academic Team of the Year Honors

Eight of SUNY Erie's 14 athletic programs earned NJCAA Academic Team of the Year accolades for maintaining a cumulative team GPA of 3.0 or higher:

  • Baseball: 3.06 GPA

  • Men's Bowling: 3.01 GPA

  • Women's Bowling: 3.31 GPA

  • Men's Cross Country: 3.10 GPA

  • Women's Cross Country: 3.48 GPA

  • Softball: 3.09 GPA

  • Women's Swimming & Diving: 3.82 GPA (Had the highest GPA among NJCAA Women's Swimming and Diving teams)

  • Volleyball: 3.20 GPA

"These NJCAA Academic Team honors reflect our student-athletes' dedication to excellence both in the classroom and in competition," said Steve Mullen, Athletic Director. "We are incredibly proud of their achievements and the culture of success we continue to build at SUNY Erie."

Individual Academic Honors

  • 45 student-athletes were recognized as Academic All-Region 3 for earning a GPA of 3.5 or higher.

  • 36 student-athletes achieved NJCAA Academic All-American honors, one of the highest individual distinctions in the NJCAA. This is awarded to those student-athletes that earned above a 3.6 GPA.
