Several Kats Earn WNYAC Softball Honors
The 2026 WNYAC All-Conference Softball honors are in, and SUNY Erie Women’s Softball was well represented after outstanding regular season on the diamond.
Leading the way, sophomore pitcher Grace Szpylman was named the 2026 WNYAC Softball Player of the Year after a dominant season in the circle and at the plate. Head Coach Craig Leone was also recognized for guiding the Kats to another successful campaign, earning 2026 WNYAC Coach of the Year honors.
SUNY Erie placed four players on the WNYAC First Team All-Conference squad:

• Amelia Potter
• Carly Fraser
• Ashlyn Pignone
The Kats also had four selections on the Second Team All-Conference list:
• Hailey Wisser
• Natalie Witt
• Haley Lerner
• Haley Wackowski
Congratulations to all of the SUNY Erie student-athletes and coaching staff on a tremendous season and these well-deserved honors.
The Kats will play for NJCAA Division III National Championship tournament, which will take place May 20-23 in DeWitt, New York. Erie will find out their opponend on Thursday where selections will be broadcast on the NJCAA website.
