Slating and Madden Earn SUNYAC Winter Scholar-Athlete Honors
Taesen Slating and Tristan Madden have been recognized for their excellence in the classroom and in competition, earning SUNYAC Winter Scholar-Athlete honors.
Slating, a sophomore on the men’s basketball team majoring in Business Administration, has been exceptional both academically and athletically. He carries a perfect 4.00 cumulative GPA and was named a First Team All-Region III selection after averaging 13.0 points and 4.9 rebounds per game this season. His performance on the court, combined with his academic success, highlights his well-rounded impact on the program.
Madden, a freshman on the men’s swimming team majoring in Building Trades/Residential Light Commercial, has also excelled in both areas. He holds a strong 3.75 GPA and delivered an outstanding season in the pool, earning Region III titles in the 50 Back, 100 Back, and 200 Back. His immediate success at the collegiate level reflects both his talent and dedication.
The SUNY Winter Scholar-Athlete Awards recognize 24 student-athletes from SUNY institutions sponsoring intercollegiate athletics at both the two- and four-year levels. Honorees are nominated and voted on by institutional representatives, with selections based on cumulative GPA, athletic performance, and academic and athletic honors.
