Kats Go 1-1 vs. Herkimer
Herkimer, NY- Erie Community College split their games with Herkimer College on Saturday. The Bulldogs took game one 12-0 and the Kats came back in the second game to win 5-4.
It was a long first game for the Kats who could not get the offense going.
Dylan Moorhouse started the game for Kats. Moorhouse went four innings, allowing four runs on five hits, striking out three and walking zero. Elliot Berger and Ethan Krakowski entered the game from the bullpen, throwing one-third of an inning and one-third of an inning respectively. Adam Rankie led the kats with two hits in two at bats.
In game two, Erie took the lead late in the 5-4 victory. The Kats trailed 4-3 in the top of the seventh inning when Greg Hare homered on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs.
Connor Desiderio sarted the game for the Kats. The hurler lasted five innings, allowing six hits and two runs while striking out five and walking one
Mike Hartman earned the win for Erie. The pitcher surrendered two runs on two hits over one inning, striking out one and walking one. Isaiah Salas threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Salas recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Erie.
Sunday's double header between the two teams was rained out.
The Kats take the field again on March 31st when they travel to Cayuga Community College for two games.
