Erie Baseball Takes Two From Finger Lakes CC.
April 10 2021- Erie freshman Adam Rankie was in the zone on Saturday, helping the Kats win both games against Finger Lakes Community College. Rankie was six of seven on the day with three stolen bases.
Erie got things going in the the first inning of their 5-1 win in the opening game when Isaiah Salas homered, scoring two runs. Greg Hare also went long for the Kats in the sixth inning. Erie tallied nine hits in the game.
Nolan Evans earned the win fo the Kats. The ace surrenderred one run on three hits over six and a third innings, striking out six.
Erie fired up the offense in the second game, winning 18-8. The Kats jumped out to an 8-0 lead after the first two innings and went on to tally 15 hits in the game. Rankie, Arlain Sesin, Cole Cote and Carter Arbuthnot all collected multiple hits in the game.
Spencer Harford got the win for Erie on the mound. The pitcher allowed eight hits and five runs over four and a third innings, striking out eight and walking one. Billy Quinn threw one and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen. Quinn recorded the last five outs to earn the save for Erie CC Kats Varsity.
Sunday's double header against Finger Lakes has been postponed until Monday at 4:00 and 6:00 pm.
