The Erie baseball team's strong bats continued to perform as they extended their winning streak to nine games in a row. The bottom of the lineup helped the Kats to a 10-0 victory in game one of their double header with Corning on Wednesday. Vincent Grazioplene, Nathan Kinder and Aiden McDonald combined for four of the team's eight hits. They scored three runs and drove in four. Overall, Erie had patience at the plate, accumulating eight walks in the game.
Ryan Lynch was the starter on the mound for Erie. The pitcher allowed zero hits and zero runs over three innings while striking out four and walking one. Aaron Cabrera and Ethan Mcilwaine each threw shutout innings for Erie in relief.
In game two, with Adam Staniszewski as the starting pitcher, the Kats put up another 10 runs to take game two 10-0. Staniszewski allowed zero runs and zero hits in his three innings of work. Tyler Noel provided relief, striking out two and walking none.
The Kats racked up another eight hits and two walks. Austin Dietz led Erie at the plate with three hits including a solo home run in the second inning.
Next up, Erie will travel to Sal Maglie Stadium to face cross town rival SUNY Niagara on Saturday for two games. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 pm.
