Congratulations to Erie football players Patrick Burns and Nicholas Blake for being named to the 2021 NJCAA DIII Football All-American Teams.  

Burns, a freshman from Cheektowaga, NY, garnered first-team honors. The Kats safety was a defensive leader for the team and finished with a team high of 75 tackles with 33 solo and 42 assisted. He also had three interceptions for the season.  His 9.4 average tackles per game ranked him fourth nationally among all NJCAA DIII programs.

Blake was named to the second team. The defensive back averaged 7 tackles per game and had three interceptions and three fumble recoveries. 

The Kats football program returned to the field in 2021 after the covid pandemic canceled the 2020 season. Head coach Mike Kemp is looking forward to an improved Kats team led by Burns and Blake for the 2022 season.
