Kats Begin Season with OT Loss
The Erie Community College football team traveled to Utica to open the 2025 season on Sunday. The teams needed extra time to decide the outcome as the Kats fell to the Pioneers in overtime 43-36.
Sophomore Eric Wilson led Erie's offense throwing for 182 years and two touchdowns. He also added 17 yards on the ground including a three yard touchdown run in the second quarter. His 38 yard pass to sophomore Raheim Mclver with under three minutes to play led to the Kats tying the game with the ensuing two point conversion.
Freshman Jayden Lewis led the team on the ground with 124 rushing yards and one touchdown.
On defense, sophomore Shamar Adams had 11 tackles and one sack on the day. Freshman Jamal Drummond had 10 tackles.
Erie will stay on the road as they play Thadddeus Stevens Tech on Saturday at 1:00 pm.
