Three Kats Earn NJCAA Division III Football All-America Honors
The NJCAA Division III announced its football All-America teams on Tuesday, with selections made by the NJCAA Football Committee, and three Erie Community College student-athletes were recognized for their outstanding seasons.
Zyan Herndon, a sophomore from Twinsburg, Ohio, was named a First Team All-American on offense at offensive line, anchoring the Kats up front and playing a key role in Erie’s success in the trenches.
On the defensive side of the ball, Delshon Taylor, a sophomore from Buffalo, New York, earned First Team All-America honors at defensive line after finishing the season with 46 total tackles and seven sacks, consistently disrupting opposing offenses and setting the tone defensively.
Rounding out the honors, Reginald Hokes III, a freshman from Charlotte, North Carolina, was selected as a First Team All-American on special teams as a return specialist, making a significant impact in the return game and providing a spark for the Kats throughout the season.
The three All-America selections cap a historic year for the Kats, who captured the Region III Championship and finished the season with a 9–1 record.
