Bowling Finishes in Third and Second in Two Weekend Tournaments
Schenectady, NY - The Erie men's bowling team was on the road this weekend for two tournaments. On Saturday, the Kats competed in the Boulevard Bowl Classic and finished third. The team bowled 5834 pins. Erie's high bowler for the event was freshman James Swannie with 997 pins.
On Sunday, the Kats finished in second place at the Schenectady County Community College Collegiate Invitational. The team bowled a total of 7052 pins. Freshman Brian Templeton led the way for Erie, placing 6th overall as well as bowling the tournament high game of 278. Also finishing in the top ten was freshman Parker Esch.
"The 2 events this weekend were a test for all 10 of our players. They were definitely taken out of their comfort zones on the challenging pattern, but they all showed true grit to fight through it," said coach David Zajac. "Our two main events, Regionals and NJCAAs, are on the horizon: we have 2-3 weeks to prepare!"
Erie will compete in the the NJCAA Region Tournament in Utica, NY on Saturday, February 19th.
