Erie Bowling Opens 2025-26 Season in Michigan
The Erie Community College men's and women's bowling teams opened their 2025-26 seasons this past weekend, competing in the AHBA #1 and #2 events held in Canton, Michigan.
The men's team placed ninth out of 20 teams on Saturday and 13th on Sunday, while the women competed on the men's JV side throughout the weekend.
"The team traveled to suburban Detroit this past weekend for the first two events of the season," said men's assistant coach Matt Limbardi. "Saturday, two sophomore players led the way — Nick Galligan and Marc D'Amico — with solid performances. Sunday was sparked by sophomore Zack Budzynski and another strong effort from D'Amico. Freshman Jacob Clarkshowed solid promise on the JV squad and gives all of the coaches excitement for his future. The weekend gave us a solid foundation of skills that need to be worked on for the season."
Women's assistant coach Angela was equally encouraged by her team's debut: "With determination, the ladies took to the lanes competing as part of Erie's JV 2 Men's team this past weekend in Canton, MI. All the ladies were able to control the pocket through the entirety of nine traditional and their parts of the 15 Baker games thrown over Saturday and Sunday's contests."
Both teams will look to build on this opening weekend as they continue their fall schedule. The will compete in the Tiger Cup in Canandaigua, NY on November 22nd.
