Kats Claim Greater Pittsburgh Collegiate Championship to Open Second Half
The Erie men's bowling team captured the Greater Pittsburgh Collegiate Championship, finishing with a team total of 5,113 pins to open the second half of the season with a hard-fought tournament victory.
The Kats were led by Nicolas Galligan and Nicolas Biondolillo, who finished eighth and ninth overall, respectively, anchoring a strong team performance throughout the day.
"The guys kicked off the second half of the season with a hard-fought tournament victory," said head coach Dave Zajac. "They took the lead after the second game of the day, and although things got a little loose at the end, their score held up for the win. We're looking to build on today's momentum heading into tomorrow's event."
The Erie women's bowling team finished ninth at the championship, displaying consistency, resilience, and strong team chemistry throughout the competition.
"The ladies remained pretty consistent all day," Zajac said. "While there were some rough patches, they supported one another at every turn. Our captain, Olivia Bell, kept everyone focused and made sure the whole team celebrated Isabella bowling her new personal-best score today."
Bell also led the Lady Kats on the lanes, posting a team-best 154.33 average for the tournament.
