Men's Swimming Has Strong Showing in Jamestown
Over the weekend, Erie Community College sent their men's team to Jamestown to compete at the Jamestown Invitational. Erie continued to show their speed by swimming eight out of nine best times. Coach Aronberg stated "Our swimmers have really learned how to perform well at each meet. They enjoy racing other athletes, but most of all, they strive to learn how to swim smart."
Ryan Nebrich had another strong performance as he qualified for the NJCAA championships in all three races he swam. He placed first in the 50 back (27.56), second in the 200 back (2:13.21) and second in the 50 fly (26.20). Stu Jensen also qualified in all three of his races for the Nationals on Saturday. He placed second in the 200 breast (2:35.52). second in the 400 IM (5:09.37) and fourth in the 50 breast (32.76), Nate Setlock turned in great swims personally as he destroyed his best times in all three races. He placed third in the 50 back (34.63), just missing the NJCAA qualifying time, third in the 200 back (2:38.52) and ninth in the 50 free (29.72). "Nate stepped-up Saturday and raced well. He continues to improve so much." stated Coach Aronberg.
Erie's next competition will be at home at Erie Community College this coming Wednesday evening, January 18th. The swim meet starts at 6:00pm.
