Erie Swimmers Open at Home
The Erie Community College men's and women's swimming and diving teams opened their 2024-25 campaign at home in a Western New York Athletic Conference meet that included Monroe Community College, Jamestown Community College and Genesee Community College.
Freshman Alexandra Oldman posted NJCAA cut times in all three of her events in the meet. She finished second in the 500 Freestyle in 6:39.59, third in the 200 Freestyle in 2:28.42 and fourth in the 50 Butterfly in 34.86.
Sophomore Mark Zeder qualified for nationals in the 50 Breaststroke. His time of 34.58 was good enough for fourth. He also was sixth in the 100 Freestyle in 1:01.45.
Freshman Jordan Strasser was fourth in the 50 Backstroke in 37.52 and sixth in the 50 Freestyle in 32.97.
Erie will return to action Wednesday, November 13 when the teams travel to Jamestown for the second of three WNYAC Conference meets this season.
