SUNY Erie Women's Softball continued its hot streak on Tuesday, sweeping Finger Lakes Community College 9-0 and 14-2 to earn its sixth consecutive victory.
In game one, Grace Szpylman delivered a dominant performance in the circle, striking out 12 batters over six shutout innings while allowing just two hits and no walks. Erie broke the game open in the fifth inning with five runs, highlighted by a two-run triple from Carly Fraser and an RBI single by Amelia Potter.
Ashlyn Pignone and Fraser each drove in three runs, while Pignone, Natalie Witt, and Fraser all recorded multiple hits to lead the offense.
The momentum carried into game two, where Erie exploded for nine runs in the first inning on the way to a 14-2 win.
Fraser stayed red-hot at the plate, going 3-for-3, while Haley Wackowski drove in three runs from the bottom of the lineup. The Kats added to their lead in the third inning and never looked back.
Potter earned the win in the circle, allowing just three hits and two runs over five innings while striking out seven. Erie totaled 12 hits in the game, drew 10 walks, and added four stolen bases to cap another complete performance.
With the sweep, the Kats extended their winning streak to six games, continuing to build momentum behind dominant pitching and a powerful, disciplined offense.
