Football Defeats Alfred University JV

The Erie Community College football team broke into the win column on Sunday defeating Alfred State University JV 24-16. The Kats, who have struggled offensively the past several weeks, put up 352 total yards of offense. With all three quarterbacks on the roster out with injuries, sophomore Trenton Funches, normally a fullback, has been leading the team at quarterback the last three weeks.  Funches was 12 of 20 for 171 yards and three touchdowns in the victory. He also rushed for 52 yards.  Three different receivers, Jaylin Weathers, Kyle Benjamin and John Bell, caught touchdown passes while John Amaning led in rushing with 71 yards. 

Christian Ozolins continues to lead on the defensive side of the ball with 10 tackles. 

The team will play its final game of the season on Saturday, November 5th at Highmark Stadium.  Game time is 4:00 pm.
