Erie Volleyball Sweeps Rival SUNY Niagara, 3–0, at Flickinger Center
The Erie Community College women's volleyball team earned a statement victory Wednesday night, sweeping cross-town rival SUNY Niagara, 3–0, at the Burt P. Flickinger Center.
The Kats controlled the match from the opening serve, showcasing steady passing, strong defense, and a balanced attack. Morgan Nixon and Sofia Darois paced the offense with eight kills apiece, while Sarah Barnard anchored the back row with nine digs to keep rallies alive.
Head Coach Craig Starzynski praised his team's effort:
"That was a big confidence win for us. I'm really proud of our back row play, especially Sarah and Diana. We passed really well and that allowed our setters to push the pace of our offense. Great win overall."
With the sweep, Erie improves to 2-3 and will return to action on Saturday, September 13th when they host POD play. They take on Hudson Valley Community College at 10:00 and SUNY Adirondack at noon.
