The Erie Community College Kats volleyball team battled hard in the NJCAA Region III Championship on Sunday but came up short against top-seeded Hudson Valley Community College, falling in straight sets, 18-25, 23-25, 19-25.
"I couldn't be more proud of our team for fighting their hearts out until the end," said head coach Craig Starzynski. "They played like a true family—for each other, not themselves. Sarah, Avari, Ciana, Sami, and Faith—our five second-year players—were our leaders all season, playing with heart and maturity."
Despite the loss, several Kats earned tournament recognition:
Sami Padilla – 1st Team All-Region
Kadie Benzel – 3rd Team All-Region
Erin Parker – Honorable Mention All-Region
The Kats close out their season with pride, teamwork, and strong momentum heading into the future of the program.
