The Erie Community College women's volleyball team went 1–1 in Saturday's pod play action, falling to Hudson Valley Community College 3–1 before bouncing back with a 3–1 victory over Adirondack Community College.
After dropping the opening match in four sets, the Kats responded with energy and determination in their second matchup, defeating Adirondack with strong play at the net and steady defense.
"I'm really proud of the way we battled today," said Head Coach Craig Starzynski. "Erin and Sami played amazing, getting us a lot of huge kills. Bri came off the bench and got us some big digs, too. We still have a lot to work out, but we showed a lot of toughness today!"
Erie was led on the day by Samantha Padilla, who tallied 19 kills, and Ciana Wiseman, who anchored the back row with 24 digs.
The split moves Erie forward with added confidence as they continue their early-season schedule. The Kats return to action on Thursday against Jamestown Community College at The Flickinger Center.
